• A May 6 Telegram search identified 22 posts mentioning the SPLC across at least six white nationalist channels, with most appearing within 72 hours of the indictment.
• The Super Sincere Alpha GOONMAXXING Aryan Sigma Patriot channel wrote “The SPLC is a hate group,” and the White Lives Matter Official Telegram channel urged users to “become an activist for your race” while referencing the SPLC as an opposing force.

2. ICE: ICE Detainees in the DMV Win Back Access to Bond Hearings

Immigrants detained by ICE in the DMV region have regained access to bond hearings, a courtroom loss for the Trump administration’s mass deportation push.^[2]

4. Executive Orders: Keeping DEI Didn’t Cost Companies a Thing, Research Finds

A new paper from UC Berkeley’s Democracy Policy Lab found that S&P 500 companies that kept their DEI commitments after President Trump signed Executive Order 14173 in January 2025 saw no meaningful stock-return or revenue difference from companies that rolled them back.^[4]

• The paper is titled “Markets Do Not Punish Firms for Maintaining DEI” and was published through the Democracy Policy Lab at UC Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy.
• Co-author Jacob Grumbach, an associate professor at UC Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy, said it was uncertain whether firms out of step on the executive order would face DOJ investigations or FTC merger approval problems.
• Grumbach’s team used public statements, regulatory filings, shareholder votes and third-party tracking to determine whether companies kept or rolled back DEI commitments.
• On the revenue side, the average effect across every version of the analysis came out to exactly 0.00.
• The study noted Target faced a boycott led mostly by Black churches and American liberals after ending DEI publicly while Costco publicly doubled down on DEI, shifting spending from Target to Costco but not producing a lasting stock performance difference.

5. Hate Crimes: Hamilton Police Charge 27-Year-Old Over Online Hate Content

Hamilton police have charged a 27-year-old Stoney Creek man in connection with hate-related content posted online.^[5]

• The man charged is 27 years old and from Stoney Creek.
• Hamilton police announced the charge on Sept. 12, 2026.
