Independent autopsy rules Kohen Wiley’s death a homicide — shotgun wound entered through the passenger window
Civil rights attorney Ben Crump and forensic pathologist Dr. Roger Mitchell held a press conference revealing the independent autopsy: cause of death was a shotgun wound to the torso, with the bullet entering Kohen’s right side and exiting his left — consistent with the shot coming from the side of the vehicle, not from in front of it. Crump said that undercuts the department’s account that the officer fired because the car was driving at him.
