Why the War in Iran Is Likely to Heat Up Again
The war against Iran, launched earlier this year by the United States and Israel, has caused a spike in energy prices around the world, and this strain on the global economy was exacerbated by Iran shutting down the Strait of Hormuz in March. Recently, however, the amount of oil passing through the strait every day has climbed back up to ten million barrels, according to some estimates.[1]

Iranian negotiators kicked out of US as talks stall, Trump lays out ‘possible’ timeline for more strikes
Secretary of State Marco Rubio abruptly ended talks and ordered the Iranian delegation to leave the U.S. after negotiations stalled, yet again, with no clear sign of a breakthrough more than seven months into the conflict, an official confirmed to Fox News Digital. And now, President Donald Trump is directly warning Iran it’s “possible” he will go harder with strikes in the Middle East after the midterm elections in November and revealed the U.S. military has significantly rebuilt its arsenal in recent months.[2]

US sends third aircraft carrier to Middle East as Trump weighs new Iran strikes
The US military is dispatching a third aircraft carrier strike group to the Middle East, as President Donald Trump warned new strikes against Iran could be on the horizon. The deployment, which includes a specialist amphibious attack group, underscores the rapidly evolving dynamic of Trump’s war against Iran as midterm elections in the US loom large.[3]

Saudi-led coalition says power station attacked in Medina, blames Houthis
At the same time in Yemen, the Saudi-backed government army says it is inflicting heavy losses on the Houthis in Taiz. The Saudi-led alliance fighting Yemen’s Houthis has accused the Iran-aligned group of attacking an electricity facility in the Muslim holy city of Medina in Saudi Arabia this week, a claim the Houthis deny.[4]
In a related development, Al Jazeera noted:
Israeli drone kills Palestinian in Gaza, settlers kill another in West Bank
Gaza’s health toll mounts, with 1,439 dead and 5,052 injured since the ceasefire began in October 2025. An Israeli drone strike has killed a Palestinian man and wounded several others in southern Gaza while settlers shot dead another Palestinian man near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.[5]
