How to Protect Yourself

  • Call your bank or card issuer right away to report the charge and block the card. If you paid with gift cards, contact the card company with the card numbers and receipt.
  • Write down the number that called, the time and what was said.
  • Report it to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, or your own local law enforcement agency, using its non-emergency number.
