Press Release: Van Drew Calls for ICE Custody in Case of Police Crash Injury
Van Drew criticizes a judge’s release decision and urges ICE custody for a man charged in a police-injury crash.
Quiver AI Summary Van Drew responds to court ruling: Rep. Jefferson Van Drew said he was reacting to a judge’s decision ordering the pretrial release of Lucio Lopez-Perez, who is charged in a drunk-driving crash that seriously injured Middle Township Police Officer Austin Kapurelos. The release order was later stayed, keeping Lopez-Perez in county custody until his next court date. ICE custody sought: Van Drew said he is “demanding” that local authorities cooperate with ICE because Lopez-Perez has an active detainer.[1]
Jon Ossoff Demands Investigation Into Georgia ICE Facility After Death
Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock Demand 'Immediate Investigation' Into Georgia ICE Facility After Detainee's Alleged Suicide Oct. 26 2026, Published 5:54 p.m. ET Georgia Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock are demanding an "immediate investigation" into Folkston Georgia's D. Ray James ICE facility, where detainees are undergoing a hunger strike and a man has died by apparent suicide.
Detainees Go on Hunger Strike to Protest Poor Conditions The hunger strike at the Georgia facility began in early October. Detainees there allege they have been held at the facility for over a year and have experienced substandard medical care, threats from guards, moldy food and a lack of due process.[2]
The senators wrote Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin demanding the investigation after what they call “reports of medical neglect and retaliation by custodial officers in response to the hunger strike.”

Courts & Lawsuits
South LA woman pleads guilty to fake, staged ICE kidnapping
A South Los Angeles woman who staged a hoax kidnapping by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in order to gain public sympathy and solicit donations pleaded guilty Monday, Oct. 26 to a federal charge.
Yuriana Julia Pelaez Calderon, 43, entered a plea in Los Angeles federal court to a single count of conspiracy to impede, obstruct, impair, and defeat the lawful function of Homeland Security Investigations within federal jurisdiction. Sentencing was set for Feb. 8, when Calderon could face up to five years in federal prison, prosecutors said. In June 2025, an attorney told assembled media that Calderon had been kidnapped days earlier at a Jack in the Box restaurant parking lot in downtown Los Angeles and taken to San Ysidro, where she was presented to an ICE staffer and handed voluntary self-deportation paperwork.[3]
Judge extends stay in lawsuit over ICE warehouse in SLC as feds list it for sale
Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County sued DHS when it announced plans to convert a warehouse in an industrial park near Salt Lake City International Airport into an ICE detention facility.
The proposed facility was met with public protest until the agency abandoned those plans months later.[4]
Raids & Arrests

Click here for updates on this story WICHITA, Kansas (KAKE) —
The owner of a La Galette French Bakery was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and may be deported to Lebanon. Attorneys for the restaurant owner, Rob Attar, hope to get a “stay-in-place.” Employees at La Galette say ICE took him into custody while he was doing his regular annual immigration check-in.[5]
MAGA Pro-ICE Champion Detained And To Be Deported
Imagine a MAGA from Africa in the U.S. on an overstayed visa while championing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and writing for reactive, radical “conservative” organizations like The Daily Wire and Turning Point USA.

Oversight & Policy
ICE deports Oshkosh teacher
Wendy Mendez, an English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) teacher at Vel Phillips Middle School in Oshkosh, was deported last week, Wednesday, Oct. 21, according to a source who requested to remain anonymous.
According to the anonymous source, Mendez was transferred at least three-to-six times to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) detention facilities, two of them being located in Kentucky and Louisiana. According to a Facebook post by Deb Nez, Mendez’s friend, Mendez has been in six detention centers in eight days across five different states.[7]
“Wendy (Mendez) has been subject to different forms of torture including three days of solitary confinement, sleeping on concrete floors with blankets that are like rags, or beds covered in mold and a host of other mistreatments,” Nez wrote in a Facebook post on Oct. 22.

ICE Calls Out CBS News For Leaving Out Deported Alien’s Apparent Immigration Fraud
CBS News’ 60 Minutes introduced viewers to the wife and two children of a deported illegal alien Sunday, but what it conveniently left out of its sob story is that this illegal alien sought protection from deportation by claiming he feared persecution for homosexuality.
But what CBS News failed to tell the audience is that, according to the Department of Homeland Security, Diawara claimed he couldn’t be deported back home to Mali because he feared persecution for homosexuality, a claim that’s quite curious given he’s married to a woman and has two children.[8]
“It feels really empty without him,” Corey Diawara told CBS News’ 60 Minutes when talking about his father, Moussa, who was deported this past July.
