As reported by Yahoo:
Moscow has hailed the suspension of new US sanctions in its war against Ukraine as an "important and truly historic moment."
The move promotes dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation, Kirill Dmitriev, the Kremlin's representative for international economic cooperation, said in a Telegram post on Saturday.
Just under a month after signing a package of sanctions against Russia, US President Donald Trump put the tariffs provided for in the package on hold shortly before they were due to come into force.
Trump justified his decision by stating that, "Such a waiver at this time is in the national interests of the United States."
Dmitriev said the legislation "would effectively have brought economic relations between Russia and the US to a complete standstill and, above all, could have caused serious damage to the US economy and global markets."
Dmitriev argued that economic cooperation between Russia and the US forms the basis for strengthening trust and achieving lasting peace.[1]
On the record
Trump also publicly criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy last week, telling reporters that it was "time for Ukraine to get a new president" and warning the Ukrainian leader to stop attacking Russian oil refineries amid tensions over the new U.S. deal with Moscow.[2]

What Fox Business reports
President waiving new Russia tariffs under late senator's Graham Act while preserving power to reinstate them President Donald Trump on Friday said he was waiving many Russian-related sanctions and tariffs under a new law backed by late South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham.
The Graham Act, which Trump signed into law last month, would have imposed sanctions of up to 100% on all goods brought into the United States from the largest importers of Russian crude oil and gas, along with countries that knowingly bought Russian oil 30 days after the law went into effect.
Trump said the waiver was in the "national interests of the United States."[2]
