This is a continuing update to our earlier report, “Third U.S. Carrier and About 9,000 Troops Head to the Middle East; What Iran’s Own Outlets Are Saying” (October 01).
By Thursday night the talking was over and the ships were moving.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio abruptly ended talks and ordered the Iranian delegation to leave the U.S., an official confirmed to Fox News Digital.[2]
Meanwhile, a US official told Al Jazeera that Washington is deploying a third aircraft carrier to the Middle East.[6]
This report follows that day in order, and every section carries the video that came with it: official posts, news broadcasts and clips circulating on X, Telegram, YouTube and Rumble. Each caption says who posted the clip and what we could see in it.
The day at a glance
- Talks: Iran’s delegation ordered out of the U.S. as negotiations stall.[2]
- Warning: Trump says it is “possible” he will go harder with strikes after the November midterms.[2]
- Deployment: a third carrier strike group is heading to the Middle East.[3]
- Hormuz: oil passing through the strait is back to an estimated ten million barrels a day.[1]
- Yemen and Saudi Arabia: the Saudi-led coalition blames the Houthis for a strike on a power station in Medina; the Houthis deny it.[4]
- Gaza and the West Bank: a drone strike in southern Gaza and a settler shooting near Ramallah.[5]
1. The talks end
Negotiations stalled “yet again, with no clear sign of a breakthrough more than seven months into the conflict,” Fox News reported.[2]
Then came the warning.
President Donald Trump is directly warning Iran it’s “possible” he will go harder with strikes in the Middle East after the midterm elections in November, and revealed the U.S. military has significantly rebuilt its arsenal in recent months, according to the same report.[2]
Watch what was said:
Middle East Spectator, an aggregator account, not independently verified, on Telegram (October 1, 2026): “President Trump: ‘Either Iran signs a deal, or they won’t exist any longer’.” What it shows: Mr. Trump at a microphone on the White House lawn, answering reporters, under a Real America’s Voice “Takes Questions From Press” banner. The quotation in the title is the channel’s caption, not our transcript.
Bloomberg Television, a news organization, on YouTube: “Trump Rejects Iran's Hormuz Offer as US Borrowing Costs, Oil Rise.”
NBC News, a news organization, on YouTube: “Trump answers questions on Iran and the midterms after steel plant announcement.”
2. A third carrier heads east
The U.S. military is dispatching a third aircraft carrier strike group to the Middle East, as Trump warned new strikes against Iran could be on the horizon, The Guardian reported.[3]
The deployment includes a specialist amphibious attack group, and it underscores the rapidly evolving dynamic of Trump’s war against Iran as midterm elections in the US loom large, the paper added.[3]
Al Jazeera’s source puts a name and a date on it: the USS Theodore Roosevelt, leaving San Diego on Sunday.[6]
Watch the deployment:
U.S. Central Command, an official account, on X (October 1, 2026): “USS George Washington (CVN 73) conducts flight operations while sailing in regional waters in the Middle East.” What it shows: a gray aircraft carrier under way on open water. This is a carrier already in the region, not the third one in the story.
Al Jazeera English, a news organization, on X (October 1, 2026): “A US official tells Al Jazeera Washington is deploying a third aircraft carrier to the Middle East, with the USS Theodore Roosevelt leaving San Diego on Sunday.” What it shows: Al Jazeera’s studio report, with Tanya Noury reporting, over footage of a burned-out vehicle.
Bloomberg Television, a news organization, on YouTube: “US May Send Third Carrier Strike Group to Middle East.”
Al Jazeera English, a news organization, on YouTube: “US aircraft carriers heading to Middle East to boost CENTCOM firepower.”
Mario Nawfal, a commentary channel, not independently verified, on Rumble: “BREAKING: NEW U.S. AIRCRAFT CARRIER HEADS TO MIDDLE EAST FOR IRAN WAR – w/ Prof. Robert Pape.” What it shows: an interview, not battlefield footage. It is commentary on the deployment.
3. Oil is moving through Hormuz again
The war against Iran, launched earlier this year by the United States and Israel, has caused a spike in energy prices around the world, and this strain on the global economy was exacerbated by Iran shutting down the Strait of Hormuz in March, The New Yorker wrote.[1]
Recently, the amount of oil passing through the strait every day has climbed back up to ten million barrels, according to some estimates.[1]
Watch the oil traffic:
CNN, a news organization, on YouTube: “Iran losing grip on Hormuz; oil traffic at ~80% of pre-war levels.”
4. Medina and the Houthis
The Saudi-led alliance fighting Yemen’s Houthis has accused the Iran-aligned group of attacking an electricity facility in the Muslim holy city of Medina in Saudi Arabia this week, a claim the Houthis deny, Al Jazeera reported.[4]
At the same time in Yemen, the Saudi-backed government army says it is inflicting heavy losses on the Houthis in Taiz.[4]
Watch what is circulating: the first clip is a news broadcast. The next two are posts from state-run and aggregator accounts, and none of the three has been verified by us.
WION, a news organization, on X (October 2, 2026): “Tensions continue to escalate between Saudi Arabia and Houthi rebels. Saudi coalition says Houthis destroyed power station in Medina.” What it shows: an anchor in a studio with a “Houthis vs Saudi Arabia” graphic and a plume of gray smoke over a town behind her.
Press TV, state-run media, not independently verified, on Telegram (October 2, 2026): “Yemen’s Armed Forces carry out attacks targeting the headquarters of the Saudi-led coalition in Aden.” What it shows: night footage of an orange glow on the horizon, with another channel’s watermark on it. It shows Aden, not Medina, and we cannot confirm where or when it was filmed.
Middle East Spectator, an aggregator account, not independently verified, on Telegram (October 1, 2026): “Houthis dancing on the Taizz–Aden road after cutting it off.” What it shows: men in camouflage moving along a road at night, some holding up lit phones. We cannot confirm who they are or where this was filmed.
5. Gaza and the West Bank
Gaza’s health toll mounts, with 1,439 dead and 5,052 injured since the ceasefire began in October 2025.[5]
An Israeli drone strike has killed a Palestinian man and wounded several others in southern Gaza, while settlers shot dead another Palestinian man near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, Al Jazeera reported.[5]
Watch the West Bank:
Al Jazeera English, a news organization, on YouTube: “Israeli settlers attack West Bank village and block Palestinian family from returning.”
BBC News, a news organization, on YouTube: “Over 100 Israeli settlers attack a Palestinian village and other top stories | Global.”
Quds News Network, a partisan outlet, not independently verified, on Telegram (October 1, 2026): “Israeli settler gangs attack Palestinian vehicles in the village of Awarta, southeast of Nablus. in the occupied West Bank.” What it shows: two hooded figures on a night street beside a parked gray car, filmed from a window above.

About the video in this report
Every clip is an embed of the original post, so it plays from the platform that published it and can be deleted by that platform or its owner. News broadcasts and official accounts are labeled as such. Clips from aggregators, state-run media, partisan outlets and commentary channels are labeled too, and are shown so readers can see what is circulating, not as confirmed evidence.
