Two Pennsylvania ICE operations have left at least 49 immigrant construction workers in detention — the largest workplace raid advocates say the state has ever seen. The workers come from Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras and other countries. Advocates say the roundups are the largest workplace raid in Pennsylvania to date (Inquirer, 2026).
Advocates also said Danville police helped ICE, workers driving away were stopped, and some were followed from the edges of Geisinger property to their homes. Workers leaving Danville encountered checkpoints near highway entrances, the coalition said (Inquirer, 2026).
Geisinger said the Sept. 2 activity did not occur on its property and that its construction manager is responsible for making sure all workers meet federal and state work eligibility requirements (Inquirer, 2026).
In Memphis, ICE agents raided a nightclub called El Corralón at 1 a.m. Aug. 30 after an investigation into illegal gambling. The operation, code-named “Operation Corral Light” by ICE’s New Orleans office, ended with 121 people taken into custody after agents checked immigration status (Gambling News, 2026). Only five of the 121 people detained had criminal histories released by police (Gambling News, 2026).
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation had asked for ICE’s help identifying a Honduran national suspected of criminal activity at the venue. But the American Civil Liberties Union of Tennessee questioned whether the gambling warrants were used as cover for immigration arrests (Gambling News, 2026).
In Phoenix, the Arizona Latino Legislative Caucus expressed concern about an ICE operation outside a Home Depot after witness reports that at least 10 people were detained, including shoppers and workers (Davis Vanguard, 2026).

2. Detention & Facility Conditions
The ACLU and several civil rights groups are suing the Department of Homeland Security over conditions at Camp East Montana, a tent facility on the Fort Bliss military base in El Paso, Texas. With a capacity of 5,000 beds, it is the largest immigration detention center in the country (ABC News, 2026).
“In the ten months that it has been operational, the facility has become notorious for flagrant human rights abuses that people endure during their detention,” the complaint says (ABC News, 2026).

In a separate development, ICE has ramped up its use of Penn State’s airport in State College to move detainees between immigration facilities. PennLive reports the State College Regional Airport receives federal funding and must make sure “the airport will be available for public use on reasonable conditions and without unjust discrimination” (PennLive, 2026).

3. Deportations & Court Rulings
An appeals court has upheld an order blocking the IRS from sharing taxpayer data with ICE (Fox News, 2026). “They were beating people with batons, kicking them, punching them, throwing people on the ground, just to attempt to get into the front door of this home,” said Tatiana Santos with Indivisible Frederick Forward (WBAL-TV, 2026).
Frederick City Council President Cesar Diaz said the community was “physically attacked by federal law enforcement officers” and called for an investigation. Frederick police eventually arrived to de-escalate, and witnesses said ICE officers entered the home and spoke with the family inside (WBAL-TV, 2026).
