As reported by BBC:
US special envoy Steve Witkoff is set to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in St Petersburg on Wednesday to discuss proposals on ending Russia's years-long conflict with Ukraine.
The talks come one day after Witkoff's meeting with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky in Oslo, which a US official described as "constructive".
Kyiv previously accused the US of withholding key intelligence – a claim rejected as "scandalous" by Washington – but on Tuesday, Zelensky said that intelligence sharing with the US on Russian missile attacks "works now".
Zelensky and his European allies said it was now up to Russia to respond to the proposals agreed in Oslo when Witkoff meets Putin on Wednesday.
Finnish President Alexander Stubb, who also took part in the talks, said "genuine progress" was made on proposals to achieve peace but gave no details and warned that patience would be needed.
Witkoff was not present at the joint press conference after Tuesday's talks in the Norwegian capital.[1]

On the record
A US official later described the talks as "very productive and constructive", saying there was a "strong alignment at the working level" among the US, Ukraine and Europe on "the next steps".[1]
Zelensky told US senators on Monday that "the Pentagon is delaying the delivery of missiles" already paid for by European countries, while the shipment was waiting for US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth's signature.[2]

What Yahoo reports
ashington's envoy Steve Witkoff will travel to Saint Petersburg and meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday following what US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described as "positive" talks with Ukraine's leader.
The trip by Donald Trump's special envoy is part of efforts to draw a line under a bitter feud between Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky and the US president over the war with Russia.
After talks with Witkoff in the Norwegian capital, Zelensky thanked Washington on Tuesday for the resumption of US intelligence on Russian strikes.[2]
What is not yet confirmed
- Unconfirmed reports earlier on Tuesday said the transfer of more US-made Patriot interceptor missiles – the only effective weapon in shooting down Russian ballistic missiles – had not yet been approved.[1]
- The feud spiralled as Zelensky accused Trump of weakness, and then alleged that the United States was deliberately withholding vital intelligence and delaying the delivery of interceptor missiles.[2]
