On the other, a federal immigration agency detained a nun walking to church, sought to deport children into an earthquake disaster zone, and sent agents to a private citizen’s home over a critical email — each incident surfacing only after journalists, lawmakers, and fact-checkers forced it into daylight.
The asymmetry is the story: extremist organizing has become confident enough to self-publicize, while questions about immigration enforcement conduct still have to be pried loose case by case.
